The Cardiff Devils had to vacate their arena in the centre of Cardiff to make way for the St David's 2 commercial development. The client aspiration was to provide a stadium capable of hosting the Cardiff Devils and also the day to day recreational requirements of Planet Ice, but severely limited by budgetary constraint. The Ice Arena is a 2000 spectator capacity stadium with potential for simple expansion as and when business demands require. It incorporates hospitality areas and functional facilities as expected for a sporting arena.
